…then you MAY like this. If you know me well you know that I am not much of a cook. Thus, one of my resolutions this year was to cook more often. Well, this isn’t a recipe that you cook but I am proud to say that Jason and I have come up with a new favorite meal. He went grocery shopping for me( he usually does these days) about a week ago. He came home with the Taco Salad mix that comes in the bag, Tyson Southwestern Chicken(already cooked and cut), and some corn. So we took those three things and added some cheese and some black olives. ohh… he also bought some tortilla strips. Together it makes the best salad! The best part is the salsa ranch dressing that comes in the salad bag. If you run out then you can always use some ranch…but it is not as good. You can either eat it as a salad or put it in a wrap…so yummy! Knowing me I probably forgot to tell you an ingredient but if you make it and you like it then let me know! If you don’t then… please don’t burst my bubble! Have fun and add your own things!!!
If You Like Chili’s Quesadilla Explosion Salad…

hahaha! I couldn’t help but laugh when you mentioned leaving out an ingredient. Do you remember all the recipes we royally messed up in high school?! From the salty waffles we served Jason C. and Travis to the no bake chocolate peanut butter cookies that we forgot to put sugar in! Not to mention the brownies that we always cooked on pre heat because we forgot to turn the oven to bake. Oh, man, we were not the best of cooks! But we sure had fun!
haha…i definitely remember! good cooks don’t have as many memories do they? just a little note…jason went to the grocery last night and could not find the taco salad mix.( at about 9:30 pm b/c we were supposed to get snow..and we DIDN’T…i’m not bitter) last time we bought it it was the manager’s special. i wonder if they are not going to carry it anymore? that would be just like something that would happen to me! oh well!
Hey Baby,
I found the Taco Salad Mix at my grocery, I’ll bring you several bags next weekend. Glad you are keeping your New Years resolution. I’ve kept mine too, lost 15 pounds on the Sacred Heart Diet. Basically all you eat is vegetable soup, fruit, and milk. Makes you feel great. After I loose 5 more then I’m going on a maintenance only diet, during the week you eat, fruits and vegetable, on the weekends, chocolate and chips. A doctor on the Today Show recommended this diet as the healthiest to loose weight fast. It’s worked for me. (The chocolate and chips on the weekend is all my idea, not endorsed by the MD.)
Hugs and Kisses!
Mom
mom, that sounds like a yummy plan! i am proud of you! can’t wait to see you! thanks for looking for the taco salad! love you!
that sounds really good. I have been trying to do weight watchers lately, but it’s been hard to give up my love for mexican food. I kind of came w/the same thing the other day w/o the corn. sometimes if the southwestern ranch is not available I use about a teaspoon of low fat sour cream and a tablespoon of salsa. it’s not the same, but it’s a close second to the sw ranch dressing.
I think you are trying to make us some breakfast here. and i think we know why you are pulling on your shirt! love you, roomie!
