So we came home from Altanta to find a very large spider living in our guest bathtub. It was the kind that makes you just freeze. And call for help! It was humongous! I absolutely hate spiders!!! I wonder if you are more afraid of spiders or snakes?
I am more afraid of spiders. My reasoning is that they can always creep up on you. They live with us…YUCK! I can avoid the places that snakes hide out in! It also probably helped me that I volunteered to work at the Roper Mountain Science Center one summer and I was assigned to help with the reptiles. My job was to take the “pets” out of the cages for the students that came to the animal camp. My best friend and I volunteered together…she got the mammals and I got the reptiles. I don’t know which was worse…the possum she had to handle or the snakes that I had to handle. Anyways, all that to say, I know how to handle a snake now.
When I went to South Africa on a mission trip in college we stayed at these dorm rooms at a boarding school. The first night I laid down in my bed there was this spider the size of my hand nesting in the window above my head…ask Rachel Lovingood…she killed it for me! I shiver just thinking about it! That was typical though…every night we were killing off spiders…huge ones! We all moved our beds away from the walls and slept in the middle of the our rooms.
The spider in our tub reminded me of those African ones…oh my goodness…my phone just vibrated on my desk and I just jumped out of my skin…I’ve got to end this post now! Spiders or snakes?

Carrie, I like you are TERRIFIED of spiders! I had a scary close encounter last week with black widows! Brad and I were moving Coopers doghouse and several large ones with babies came from the bottom of it!!! Needless to say we saw the hourglass and ran! We sprayed it and went back the next day to get it. Brad is the opposite he hates snakes!!
