ok…another series I may start…Design Ideas! We’ll see how this all lasts! I like this idea that I saw at Real Simple. Use chalk board paint to create a wall mural and it creates a space for the kids to get creative!!! You could make a scene like the one below or maybe do their silhouettes. Great idea for a playroom!

I would like to submit a bit of info about a new design idea…check out http://www.uppercaseliving.com. I am selling it now and it is awesome!!! Love you!
OK – I painted a chalk board wall in our bonus room last summer and my kids love it! It is definitely NOT as cute as this tree, but they still love it! I am feeling SOOO much better btw…thanks for calling!
How funny! I thought about doing a series of design ideas too! Hey, we will come up with tons of new ideas then! I love this idea and intend on doing it in Connors big boy bedroom whenever he graduates to that. It is going to be the “pink” room which still isnt painted yet. Anything will be better than what it is now! Ha! I love the tree idea, that is a great idea!!!
it’s funny that you posted this as I just told a friend of mine tonight how I want to do this. We just finished painting the playroom at the new house and I’m hoping to do stations with one being an art station. I would like to use some chalkboard paint and maybe also do a cork board thing so they have a place to display their art. I’ll post pictures on my blog when, if, I get it done.
my only thing would be picturing B thinking the entire room was his canvas, if you catch my drift. yes, chalk could come off but not if he grabbed crayons, haha.
what about painting the room BRIGHT yellow with a picket fence and flowers? ha!
tru dat, Audrey! and for those of you who don’t know, Misty is talking about our hideous college room that i painted one year…don’t forget about the blue bathroom with clouds…oh my!
I remember the bathroom!! How funny!
Who needs a chalkboard place when they can just draw all over the painted walls!!!! That is just what Jaleigh did this week!!! We have new artwork all over our bedroom walls and door and it didn’t cost me a dime!!!
I do envision the girls coloring on ALL the walls but that’s why too I INTEND
on only having the art supplies in the playroom…oh and LOTS of Mr. Clean erasers!!
One thing to consider is using a chair rail with the chalkboard paint. You can then paint your entire playroom under the chair rail which will act as a barrior.
Thanks for adding the link for Real Simple- I’ve never been to that website. It had some really good tips. The chalkboard paint idea is so cute! I also had to check out the 6 items for kitchen organization.
