I get into habits of fixing certain foods until I just get sick of them. Right now I am LOVING what I am eating. So I thought I would share. Our grill has been working hard lately! We have been cooking chicken, burgers, salmon, pork tenderloin, and steak. For the steaks and burgers we use this McCormick’s Montreal Steak Seasoning. For the chicken and pork we use Kraft Zesty Italian Dressing/Marinade. For the Salmon we use Cavender’s Greek Seasoning.
One of our side dishes has been the little red new potatoes. I cut them in small chunks, pour over some olive oil and sprinkle with Season-All. We cook them in aluminum foil on the grill. Another side- Asparagus. I put olive oil, lime juice, dill weed, and garlic salt. Other sides have been corn on the cob, baked beans, sweet potatoes(microwaved), and various salads.
My favorite salad dressing right now is the Kraft Creamy Poppyseed. I put it on some spinach or green leaf lettuce with strawberries, mandarin oranges, apples, pecans, etc…whatever I can find. It is SO GOOD!
And for some reason we have gotten on a kick of eating ice cream in cake cones for dessert. Hey, at least the portion is a little smaller than eating out of a bowl.
So what’s your favorite food right now? Do you have any easy side dish to share?
We planted our first ever tomato plant this weekend! I can’t wait to eat some fresh tomatoes!!!!
Also, if you want to check out your favorite foods at restaurants check out The Daily Plate for all the nutritional information. It will shock you!!!
That all sounds amazing. I totally should have come to your house for dinner. Also, I am refusing to look up the pizza we ate on The Daily Plate. I still have a few pieces for leftovers and I am sure the results would change my thoughts about it. Have a great day!
I made fresh salsa Monday night and am loving it. I am going to plant tomatoes this weekend so we can have it all the time! YUM! I love summer. We’re doing a lot of steamed green beans and steamed corn on cob for sides. Grilled chicken and burgers too. And Tracy Cornett’s recipe for Tilapia – yum – and I’m not a fish lover. I love summer and fresh foods!
I second the love of Montreal steak seasoning! We put it on everything. Even asparagus! Just toss it with a little olive oil and roast or grill. This time of year we love to eat kabobs with either chicken or steak plus onion, red pepper, and pineapple. We grill it with either Lawry’s or KC Masterpiece teriyaki marinade. Yum! I love summer food!
Tracy, if you read this, I need that Tilapia recipe!! I love homemade salsa, Sarah! We need to share all our recipes that we use. Those Kabob’s sound great, Dawn! Thanks for the idea!!! Jana, there is nothing that beats pizza!!!
There is nothing better than those new red potatoes!! We love them! It sounds like we are cooking alot of the same things! Have you ever cooked your asparagus in the oven in balsamic vinegar, it is pretty darn tasty if you like that dressing! But all the other recipes you gave we do too! I would know what to fix for y’all if you ever came over, hee hee!!
Now I am hungry and it’s only 10:30 in the morning.
